Tis the Season
The air is cooler, squirrels are scurrying around, hiding nuts they will never find.
The towns are putting up their holiday banners and the glistening stars on the streetlights.
The cats are more willing to stay in at night and sleep on the heater vents.
It is time to slow down a bit and stay home.
Reflect.
Sniffing the air when you come home, you catch the drift of home made bread & soup. This is the time we indulge in "comfort food". Gratefully eating yummy things that come from an oven that has been fired up in an effort to chase the cold & damp away.
Tis the Season
for catalog shopping.
Perhaps even becoming brave enough to shop online this year.
Dreading the Mall, and yet going any way because even if you hate the crowds, you love the decorations.
Shopping early. Stopping in at a new small shop that opened up this year, you have been wanting to see what they have.
We feel a little more generous this time of year...and sometimes, we feel a little more grumpy because we feel we haven't done enough...or perhaps we have done too much!
We clean as we haven't cleaned in months, just so we can have our friends over.
Time for pulling out boxes from the closets, attics and the shed to see how our memories have fared. How did this get broken? Oh, this melted, we can't put this box up there again!
Remember when you made this?
The Christmas music CD's are found again, as well as Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman...we never tire of hearing or seeing them year after year.
We drink hot chocolate again, and if we are really lucky, we have a fire too!
Ah, I love this season.

Spinners Heart

Remember I told you I started another shop? Spinnersheart.etsy.com
Well, things have been going slow there.
Buyers that might be your first sale, sometimes turn away when they see you don't have any feedback yet. No ones really likes to be the Guinea Pig and risk being taken advantage of. For some reason, folks have a fear of new shops. They don't have any feed back, so they don't know if they have slow shipping, good service, or if they are up as a scam! I have run into a few shops that were scams...fortunately they go under before many buy...sometimes, before ANY buy! Yeah, Etsy!
I thought perhaps I would have an easier time of it since I have a good reputation with my 1st shop, and have a link to it. I mean, here is the evidence that I am a good seller, right?
Another hurdle to overcome, is the low number of items. Since spinning wheels aren't exactly a "supply" you would buy every week, most of what I have in my shop are extremely slow movers. So, I compensated with including fiber. I mean, what is a spinners greatest need? :-)
In another week, I plan on making another order into Louet, and get some more spinning fiber. I figure, the more items in your shop, the more likely whoever is looking will say, "Oh! Just what I was looking for!" ♥
So, if you are looking at my second site, and wondering why things aren't selling, those are some reasons why. Most of the time, I don't expect to ever sell a wheel, then other days I get optimistic and say, "why not?" Fiber, on the other hand, I expect will sell. I just don't promote the site nearly as much as Lambs Ears. Lambs Ears is, after all, my first shop! ♥ Time to change that!
